Despite Virginia’s overall prosperity, profound disparities in access to justice persist:
▪️ Only 1 civil legal aid attorney exists for every 7,500 eligible Virginians ▪️ 89% of tenants face eviction without legal representation ▪️ 22 counties have no practicing poverty law attorneys ▪️ 63% of low-income Virginians report at least one civil legal problem annually ▪️ Over $36 million in benefits are wrongfully denied to eligible Virginians each year
