- Suicide and overdose are leading causes of maternal mortality
- Screening occurs in only 44% of prenatal visits
- 67% of counties have no psychiatrist specializing in perinatal mental health
- Economic burden: $14.2 billion in productivity losses and healthcare costs

- Specialized training programs for OB-GYNs, midwives, and primary care providers
- Expanding the maternal mental health workforce, including social workers and doulas
📡 Telehealth Reimbursement
- Ensuring access to virtual therapy and psychiatric care in underserved areas
- Medicaid and private insurance coverage for remote perinatal mental health visits
💰 Insurance Coverage Mandates
- Guaranteed coverage for mental health treatment through 12 months postpartum
